How is it transmitted? Unprotected oral, anal or vaginal sex; contact with sores on someone's body. What are the symptoms? A few weeks after exposure, a sore will form on your mouth, genitals or butt. Later a rash, swollen glands and fever may develop (secondary syphilis) after the chancre is healed. How is it treated?
